They will resume operations in another league to be announced at a later date. The Chicago Bulldogs optioned to remove themselves due to failed negotiations with the DAHL . The new season resumes play in September. In the meantime the Bulldogs front office has shaken up the roster by making several moves. The Chicago Bulldogs Report - 07/26/11 The Bulldogs ran into trouble again this past week as they dropped two games in three nights for their third consecutive loss. Hardly resembling the preseason team, they opened the regular season with two convincing victories and looked to ride high in the standings. Unfortunately for them, players began missing games due to personal, professional and mental issues. The club suited ten or fewer skaters in those three games and lost them by a combined 37-8 score. Bulldog GM Alex Martinez has indicated that major changes are coming. This includes roster changes and a possible league change to the BHL. The BHL (Beer Hockey League) is a team run league in which the players and the owners share equal rights, equal revenue and dictate their own schedules and rules. Stay tuned for new information and updates. The Chicago Bulldogs Report - The Championship Bulldogs Win! Bulldogs Win! Need we say more? Not really, but we will anyway. Like many seasons before, the Bulldogs season had its ups and downs. Sure, there were nights when they played with a short bench, injured comrades, squabbling teammates and star players performing below par (to name a few), but one thing remained consistent - winning. The Chicago Bulldogs Report - Front Office The Bulldogs are on pace to go undefeated this season, At 9-0 with two regular season games left to play, no team in any league that the Bulldogs have ever played in, has ever gone undefeated in the regular season and also won a championship. Is their success based on being the most talented team in the league? Some would say yes, but a closer look at the organization could change opinions. Its time to give credit where credit is due, as we focus on the Chicago Bulldogs Front Office. The Chicago Bulldogs Report - Goalies What does the future hold for Alex Martinez and the Chicago Bulldogs? The team continues to be in playoff contention season after season and at times, actually wins Championships. But when do they begin rebuilding? At 38, one would speculate that his reign as the Bulldog net-minder should be coming to an end, soon. The Chicago Bulldogs Report - Defense The Chicago Bulldogs can make a strong case for boasting the top defensemen in the league, with Ted Markos, Mitch LaBuda, Jason Darfler, James Senne and Pat Reardon. In case of injury, they're backed by two forwards Joe Koehler and Tony Feeney who can easily make the transition as defensemen when needed. In this week's edition of Running With the Bulldogs, we'll take a closer look at the boys manning the wall this season on defense. The Chicago Bulldogs Report - Forwards The Chicago Bulldogs come into this season with a deep and formidable group on offense. During the off season they managed to sign (and re-sign) a couple of new players, restructure a few contracts and prevent some from leaving altogether. The Chicago Bulldogs Report - Media Blitz In the last couple of weeks, the Chicago Bulldogs have started a media campaign to bolster their reputation as being the most organized and recognized adult hockey team nationwide. Vice President of Media relations Maher Karim stated in a prepared statement "Rebuilding Bulldog pride is the organization's primary goal going into 2011. That means that we will be promoting our club through our website, the media and charity events. That's going to require the involvement of everyone from the towel boy to the players to the front office. Anyone that undervalues the privilege of being a Bulldog will not be with this organization very much longer." |
